Who we are
Why Mongol Trails
Go beyond the itinerary. Meet the people. Ride the land. Share the journey.
Mongol Trails is a small, purpose-driven expedition company created by two Mongolian-Australian friends who know Mongolia not simply as a destination, but as home.
Ride across open steppe, share stories in a nomadic ger, connect with local communities and experience the raw beauty of Mongolia's mountains, forests and wilderness.
This expedition exists because of the relationships and knowledge we have built with the people and places we take you to.
We create journeys that honour the spirit of adventure, the depth of culture, and the quiet power of Mongolia's wild landscapes.
Mongolia is a land that doesn't just invite you in — it transforms you; it's a place you feel.
Real relationships
Our journeys are shaped by genuine relationships with local herders, horsemen, artisans and families, giving you access to experiences beyond the usual tourist trail.
Small, curated groups
We deliberately keep groups small. It lets us move slowly, stay with families, and give every explorer real attention on the trail.

Sustainability
We're not simply bringing people to Mongolia. We want tourism to contribute to a more sustainable future for the places and communities we visit.
Our vision is to support practical, locally appropriate solutions, from reducing waste and protecting fragile environments to supporting local livelihoods, preserving cultural knowledge and creating opportunities for future generations. Community work is already part of who we are.
Leave no trace
We encourage our explorers to travel responsibly, minimise single-use waste and carry their rubbish out of the remote places we visit.
Local livelihoods
We work directly with local families and partners so that tourism supports livelihoods, cultural knowledge and opportunities for future generations.
Fragile landscapes
Mongolia's landscapes are vast but fragile. We respect wildlife and livestock, conserve water and follow the guidance of local guides.
