Dinosaur Heritage. Walk Among Ancient Fossils
Gobi Desert Expedition
Ancient Landscapes. Dinosaur Legends. Endless Gobi Horizons. Journey deep into Mongolia’s extraordinary Gobi Desert, where ancient seas, dinosaur fossils, towering cliffs and vast open horizons tell stories millions of years in the making. From the striking Tsagaan Suvarga and legendary Bayanzag Flaming Cliffs to the granite wilderness of Ikh Gazryn Chuluu, experience some of Mongolia’s most remarkable and lesser-known landscapes. Walk, explore, photograph and discover the Gobi beyond the ordinary.
Experience the vast landscapes of the Gobi, where golden dunes, rugged cliffs and open horizons stretch far beyond the usual tourist routes.
The Gobi is one of the world’s great dinosaur fossil regions. At Bayanzag, the Flaming Cliffs, some of the earliest recognised dinosaur eggs were discovered in the 1920s. Since then, remarkable finds have included dinosaur nests, bones, footprints and even a fossilised dinosaur embryo preserved inside an egg.
Explore these ancient landscapes and discover a place where millions of years of natural history remain preserved beneath the desert sands.
Travel through some of southern Mongolia’s most remarkable landscapes, from the Tsagaan Suvarga cliffs and the remote beauty of Yolyn Am to the sweeping dunes of Khongoryn Els and the ancient landscapes of Bayanzag.
A highlight of the journey is a camel-riding experience through the Gobi dunes. Ride alongside the legendary Bactrian camels of Mongolia and experience a slower way of travelling through this extraordinary desert landscape.
Along the way, connect with local communities, experience traditional hospitality and discover how people and their animals have adapted to life in one of the world’s harshest environments.
This is Mongolia at its most expansive — wild landscapes, ancient history, traditional culture and an unforgettable journey through the Gobi.
