9-day horse trek and Tsaatan cultural journey
Khövsgöl and the Taiga
Lake shore riding, boreal forest, and two days with Tsaatan reindeer herders above the treeline.
Journey deep into northern Mongolia's remote taiga on horseback to meet Tsaatan reindeer-herding families and experience a way of life shaped by the forest, reindeer and generations of knowledge.
This is more than a horse trek. It is time to slow down, travel through true wilderness and share everyday moments with people whose relationship with the land remains central to their culture.

Horse and reindeer riding
Advanced riding experience is not required, but you should be comfortable spending several hours in the saddle and following local guides over natural terrain.
Reindeer riding depends on animal welfare, local conditions and the decision of Tsaatan families. A rider-weight limit applies; ask us before booking if this affects you.
Accommodation and meals
Accommodation may include cabins, family lodging, tents, Tsaatan dwellings and lakeside gers. In the taiga there may be no showers, running water or conventional bathrooms.
The cooking team prepares filling meals from locally available ingredients. Tell us about dietary needs when registering so we can confirm what is possible.
Safety and responsible travel
Local guides decide routes and daily activities according to weather, terrain, animal welfare and participant safety. We support local families, respect Tsaatan traditions, keep groups small and carry waste out of the taiga.
Ride into a place few people reach, sit beside a forest fire, meet the reindeer and listen to the people who call the taiga home.
